Receipt bank app – This nifty app is suitable for all business including sole traders and takes the pain away from hours of data entry – When using your eftpos card to purchase goods ie fuel – take a pic of the receipt within the app and viola! It gets imported into your accounting software, already coded to the correct expense account. If asked ‘would you like me to email you a receipt? – yes, send to your receipt-bank email and again, its imported directly into your accounting software. This app takes the cost out of time consuming data entry and will pay for itself every month in savings. Contact bennetts for your free trial. View it here: https://www.receipt-bank.com/
It has been very quiet on the ATO front so far. I have no real news to share.
During this time – it would be a good idea to start thinking about 30 June – only 4 months away. Consider collecting up all your work related receipts for deductions and being prepared for 1 July and getting your tax return ready to go. Check your car log book – does the work related or private use percentage need updating? Ask yourself – are you driving more or less now for work / business. The answer may require you to revisit your log book.
